King of the Cage Hawaii is just one week away from their Mixed Martial Arts Event (Alii’s) that has got to be one of the most stacked cards that Hawaii has ever seen. Headlining this highly talked about show will be the people’s Champion Falaniko Vitali, who is a UFC, Bellator, & Strikeforce Veteran and has notable wins over fighters such as Matt Lindland, Dave Menne, Kalib Starnes, and Yushin Okami. Falaniko holds a record of 29-10, and will be taking on 9-12-1 Elmer Waterhen in the nights super fight. Waterhen is a battle tested veteran who has won 42% of his Fights by Submission another 42% by KO/TKO, and 17% by Decision so chances are with these two Warriors stepping into the cage to face each other the Judges will most likely not have to work on this fight. In the nights Co-Main event it will be unbeaten Hawaii fighter Russell Doane taking on King of the Cage Flyweight (135lbs.) Champion Frank Baca. Doane who is a 808 Top Team stand out, also holds the X-1 World Events Bantamweight (126-135) title. Having a record of 6-0 here in Hawaii is by far no easy task and when you take a closer look at the opponent he has faced it only confirms how much of a great fighter he is. Baca is no push over himself with a near perfect record of 14-1 and having recently won the King of the cage Flyweight title his resume speaks for itself. Other Fighters that will in action on the 14th will be Collin Mansanas, Chris Cisneros, Brett “Rambo”Nakamura”, Matt Comeau, Sean Rush, Ray “Bradda” Cooper, TJ Kuahine, Toby Misech, Dustin Kimura and many more of Hawaii’s top Athletes. Not to be forgotten is the 16 Fight Amateur card that will highlight a lot of Hawaii’s Top up and coming Amateur Fighters. This truly an event that you will not want to miss.
We spoke with King of the Cage Hawaii Executive Assistant Kim Jhun about what the fans can expect come fight night and this is what she had to say ”This is a great Opportunity for not only our Hawaii MMA Fans, but also for our Fighters as well” Jhun went on to say “KOTC has been around for a real long time now and a lot of todays top UFC Fighters got there foot in the door though KOTC. Terry Trebilcock (founder of KOTC) is eager to come to Hawaii and see what our Fighters have to offer and to see first hand the talent we have here in Hawaii. This event will be televised in over 40 Million Homes all over the world, and if a Fighter does good and catches his eye big things are in store for him”. When asked what the future has in store for KOTC Hawaii Jhun stated “We don’t want to be a one hit wonder so we are planing everything out the right way. We want to be here for a long time so not only will KOTC Hawaii be a succes but we can also help our Hawaii Fighter by educating them and preparing them for the Bigger shows in the Mainland”.
