BJpenn.com Present Just Scrap returns to the Valley Isle Dec 27

 

 

BJPenn.com Presents Just Scrap will be returning to the Valley Isle December 27 with what many people are expecting to be the biggest Just Scrap of the year. This year alone Just Scrap has put together some of Hawaii’s most highly anticipated match up’s with some of Hawaii’s most talked about fighters. Not only have they brought in some of the best MMA school’s in the Hawaiian chain, but also Mainland Fighters that are well known on some of the bigger MMA shows in the Mainland. Fighters like K.O.T.C, Gladiator Challenge, & K-1 Veteran Deutsch Pu’u, UFC Veteran Wesley “Cabbage” Correira, Bellator Fighting Championships Vetrean Chris “The Mavrick” Cisneros, UFC & WEC Veteran Nissen Osterneck, Elite XC, & ROTR Veteran “Iron” Mike Aina, and many, many other Top Fighters. This will be Just Scrap’s 6th event of 2013 and there 3rd event in three month’s.

Headlining this stacked card will be UFC Veteran and Maui Native Nissen Osterneck taking on Gabriel Vian of Las Vegas. Both fighter are coming off of win’s in the Just Scrap Promotion this year. Nissen won over Hilo’s Chris Cisneros on the May  Hilo Just Scrap while Vian took out Adam Akau on the March Just Scrap card that was held in Maui. Osterneck has a 12-3 record with 8 Submissions and 3 KO’S and has been fighting since 2006. A lot of people will be pulling for Osterneck especially being that this event will be held in Maui and Vian beat one of Maui’s top MMA Fighters. However Vian is by far no walk in the park with a 3-1 record with 2 KO’s and one submission this is sure to be the fight of the night.

Other Fighters that will be in action at the Maui War Memorial Gym will be Zach Zane, Bone Pali, Buge Saribay, Geno Mccarthy,Jon Pico, and many other top Maui Athlete’s. Other fighters that are set to mix it up in the cage will be  Petey Vital, David McKinney,Ashton Castro, Ikaika Rodrigues, Kentzin Santos, Ronsten Andrade, &  Pat Enos. This event will be held at the Maui War Memorial on Dec 27 so make sure to buy your tickets early and bring the whole family to see and support your favorite Hawaii MMA Fighter. MMA Return’s to Beautiful Kailua-Kona as BJPenn.com Presents Just Scrap will be holding there 22 event. Right now its still early but sources close to MMAAbsolute.com has found out that Kona’s own Van Oscar Penovaroff will be in action along with Fighters from Kona’s Average Joes and Boss MMA, Penn Training & Fitness, Jesus is Lord, and other top school’s from all over the Hawaiian Islands. As soon as we find out more we will be letting you the awesome fights fans know so stay tuned.

Destiny MMA Present’s Proving Ground

 

 

One of Hawaii’s top MMA Promotions is gearing up for there most recent show (Proving Ground), and if you’ve never had the chance to experience Hawaii’s Destiny MMA you owe it to yourself to see what all the fuss is about. Headlining this stacked card will be Destiny’s 145.lbs Champion Ryan Mulvhill taking on  Strikeforce, WEC, & KOTC Veteran Harris “The Hitman” Sarmiento. Mulvhill’s current record stands at 9-3 and he has notable wins over Tachi Palace Veteran Ricky Wallace, & PXC Veteran Toby Misech, but Sarmiento is no stranger when it comes to fighting tough opponents. Not only has he been in the cage and won over MMA greats such as Ultimate Fighter Season 12 winner Jonathan Brookins, & Former WEC Lightweight Champion “Razor” Rob McCullough, but since his first Professional bout back in May of 2002, Sarmiento has fought for 4 different MMA titles and is the current PXC Lightweight Champion. This is sure to be a fight that you will not want to miss.

Also expected to make her return to the Octagon well be  Raquel “Rocky” Pa’aluhi. While Pa’aluhi trains with fighters like Max “Blessed” Holloway and Dustin Kimura at Gracie Technics her opponent Washington’s Priscilla “The Gorilla” White trains with Northwest Elite Fight club under  Eddie Blackburn. Both of these tough Female Athletes can take this fight either standing or on the ground and should not be taken lightly. One thing Pa’aluhi will have going for her will be the hometown advantage. If you have never seen Pa’aluhi enter the cage it might shock you to see just how crazy the crowd supports her.

    Another match that you will not want to miss will be Oahu’s Maki Pitolo making his Professional MMA Debut against Mavrick MMA Hilo’s Chris Cisneros for the Vacant Destiny 170.Lbs State Title. Maki is one of Hawaii’s well known Fighter’s who always comes prepared to fight with his training from West Oahu MMA, and with  his stand up and ground skills always on point Maki truly is a dangerous opponent. Cisneros is another one of Hawaii’s well known fighter’s with a record of 13-7 and holding the 808 Battleground Title Chris is one of those fighters that just likes a good old fashion brawl and never shy’s away from an opponent. This has fight of the night written all over it. Other fighters that will be in action come August 24 are Matt Comeau, Alex Pulotu-Steverson. Jesus is Lord stand out’s Robby Ostovich/ Lawrence Collins/ Monica Franco. 808 Fight Factory’s Micah Abreu/ Bronson Mohika/ Brandon Frasier.  808 Top Team’s Ryan Delacruz/ Roy Cooper/ Paul Lopes. BJ Penn.com Presents Just Scrap returns to Maui

 

Hot off there January 19th event that was held on the Big Island BJ Penn.com Presents Just Scrap will be holding there next event in the Valley Isle on Friday March 15th . Thats right Just Scrap will be returning to Maui with some of the Islands top MMA Fighters all under one card. Heading this stacked card will be Former UFC/K-1/WEC Veteran Wesley “Cabbage” Correira of Cabbage MMA taking on the Current X-1/Las Vegas MMA/The Regional Championships Paea Paongo of 808 Fight Factory. If you are a fan of Fast past fight that has an almost %100 chance of ending in a Knock out, this is a fight you will not want to miss. Correira is coming off of a disappointing loss at the last Just Scrap event against K-1 Veteran Deutsch Pu’u, but word is he has been training like a madman in preparation for this fight. In Paongo’s most recent bout, he needed only 10 seconds to stop Heavy Hitter Raul Nava to win the Vacant Regional Championships “TRC” Title making it a total of three belt’s Paongo won in the cage.

Also returning to the cage will be Maui’s Adam Akau, who we all know come’s to fight and ready for any tupe of battle in the cage. In Akau’s last fight he took on the always dangerous Desi Miner in a three round War that ended with Akau getting the win. Another Fighter that will be in action next month will be another Maui Fighter and  fan favorite Ilima Maiava. Maiava is coming off of a win against Wesley Golden at UIC 8, in which Maiava won by technical knockout.Both Akau and Maiava are two of Hawaii top Fighters and you will not want to miss there fights. Other Match that have been confirmed are Hilo’s Paul Norman vs Maui’s Jordan Kekino and West Oahu MMA’s Maki Pitolo vs Maui’s Sean Rush who train’s out of 3 Trible’s one Vibe, just to name a few. This will be one of those events that people will be talking about for a long time and you will definitely not want to be left wishing you had a ticket to the show so get your tickets early and get ready to enjoy a great show.

Mayhem at the Mansion 4

Mixed Martial Arts return’s to Kauai and this just might be the most stacked card to ever hit Kauai. Fighters from the Big Island, Maui,Oahu, and Kauai will be putting it all on the line to see who is the better Fighter. In the nights Main Event it will be the always dangerous, Eben Kaneshiro will taking on New Jersey native who now train’s out of 808 Fight Factory Johny Pecyna. This will a fight that you dont want to miss, Kaneshiro has been in the cage with top caliber fighter such as Urijah Faber, Nam Phan,and Hawaii’s Ricky Wallace, and although alot of people might not to familiar with Johny, believe me he is a fighter that always comes to fight with bad intentions. In his Hawaii MMA debut it took Johny less then one rd to stop Ka’eo Kawa’a by  Knock out. If you love to see a great fight this is one for you. MFC 1 MMA Expo & Fundraiser Dec 14th,15th,16th

 

MFC 1 is just a few days away from putting on what very will might be Maui’s biggest show they have ever had in a long time. Carvalho Entertainment Presents the 2012 Family Mixed Martial Arts Expo and Fundraiser to benefit the Toys for Tots.This three day event will feature everything from Mixed Martial Arts, Kickboxing, No G Grappling,Live music, great food, and a lot more. Day one which will kickoff on Friday of this three day event (Dec 14th) will be filled with Kickboxing and No Gi Cage Grappling which will cost $15.00. In the Kickboxing Main event it will be the return of Maui Brandon “The Viper” Visher taking on Linc Merrit. We all remember Brandon when he was fighting in the WEC and everyone has been talking about his return to the cage. On Saturday (Dec 15th)it will be MMA at it’s best, in the main event it will be Hawaii’s top Heavyweight, Lolohea Mahi taking on Tacoma Washingtons Matt Kovaks for the vacant MFC Heavyweight Title. Then in the nights Co-Main event it will be the Molokai Cowboy Sale Sproat taking on Bend Oregon’s JT “The Outlaw” Taylor  for the MFC Middleweight Title. Also Fighting on this card will be Justin Cook vs DJ Tadena for the MFC Amateur Flyweight Title, Randen Abafo vs Brysen Bolahao for the MFC Amateur Lightweight title, and in the women’s Flyweight Division Oahu’s Haley Pasion will be taking on Maui’s Miki Freitas for the MFC Women’s Flyweight Title. This along with 3 other will put together matches will a card for the history books. Then to top it off on Sunday (Dec 16th) it will be the CD Release Party of Maoli. Unorthodox Industries Championships 10

 

 

Unorthodox Industries Championships will be returning to the Big Island for there 10th event, but this time they will be holding there event at the Edith Kanaka’ole Tennis Stadium. If you might not be to familiar with the Kanaka’ole Stadium it’s a much bigger venu then the Hilo Civic that can hold much more people. It’s not as big as the neil Blaisdell Arena but it’s still a very big Arena, and with this being the first ever free event they just might need all the space they can get. Thats right UIC 10 will be absolutely free for the general public and with X-Mas right around the corner this is a welcome surprise for all of the Hawaii MMA fans that continue to show there support for this sport. Its still a bit early as far the fight card line up but MMAAbsolute.com has spoken with UIC Owner/Promotor Russell Strong and he has told us that as of right now. Hilo’s Michael”Baba” Dudoit along with team mate Kainui Meyers,will be fighting on this card as will as Hilo’s Ryan Tampon. Also stepping back into the cage will be former Hilo fighter that now training out of Xtreme couture’s MMA Gym Kaipo Roan. As we said it’s still a bit early but as soon as we find out the full fight card we will be letting everyone know. This will be a very special event here in Hilo so make sure to bring your whole family and enjoy this free show. There will be great food and fun for people of all ages and fights that will be talked about for a long time.

King of the Cage Hawaii return’s with “Mana”

 

King of the cage will be returning to the Neil Blaisdell Arena on October 20th and like always they have put together a line up of Matches that you will not want to miss. In the nights Main Event, making his return to the cage wil be UFC Veteran Wesley “Cabbage” Correa taking on StrikeForce Veteran and X-1 World Heavyweight Champion Lolohea Mahe, both Correa & Mahe have some of the strongest chins in MMA, and areknown to be stand up Fighters so you know this will be fireworks. Mahe is coming off of a second round TKO Victory over Hilo’s Chad Thomas and has a impressive record of  5-2 while Correa also has a winning record of 19-14, and have been in the cage and won against Fighters such as Joe Riggs, David “Tank” Abbott, Jason Lambert, and Justin Eilers. With a combind weight of over 500.lbs this will be Fight to remember.

In the Co-Main event it will be a pair of Tough Polynesians that have been making Big Waves in the Light Heavyweight Division. Maui’s Ilima Maiava will be taking on Waianae’s Tasi ‘The Tyrant” Edwards. Tasi had a great Amateur Carrer winning the Up-N-Up Light Heavyweight Title before turning pro in April of 2009. Maiava wasted no time turning Pro in March of 2010 when he had only one Amateur fight which he won. Both of these Fighters not only have the Skill needed to win but train with some of the World best Trainers. Tasi who normally trains out of Edwards MMA in Oahu has been training in the Mainland for this Fight and is known to also train at the Wild Card Gym where Boxing Coach Fredy Roach calls home, and Ilima trains at 808 Top Team with Fighters like Ronald Jhun,Harris Sarmiento, and Russell Doane. He also train’s on Maui with former UFC and Ultimate Fighter Winner Kendall Grove.This has Fight of the night writing all over it and is sure to be a real crowd pleaser.  King of the Cage is one of the most will known Promotions in the world and has help tons of UFC Fighters get there start, and to have them here in Hawaii is a Tremendous opportunity for our Hawaii Fighters.
