Hawaii goes 2 for 4 at PXC 34

Pacific X-treme Combat held there 34th event last night in the Philippines and there was 4 Fighters representing Hawaii. Opening the night from Hawaii was 808 Top Team’s Luis Smolka, and boy was he impressive. For the opening bell it was all Smolka scoring the early take down and never giving Bryan To Hang Lam a chance to get back up. Smolka showed how much his Ground and Pound has improved and issuing a warning to all competitors to watch out. Smolka won Via First round Submission when he sunk in an Armbar that Lam had no answer for.  Next up was Team mate of Smolka Russell Doane, Russell show why he is considered one of Hawaii top MMA Fighter when he took on Japan’s Michinori Tanaka and dropped him early in the first round. Unfortunately Doane came up a little short losing by Third round Submission via Rear-Naked Choke. The Next Hawaii Fighter to step into the cage was Gracie Technics Stand out, Dustin Kimura, and once again Dustin showed the heart of a true champion when he stood toe to toe against Guy Delumeau. Delumeau who is orginally for Hawaii now trains out of Japan give Dustin a run for his money, but Kimura who is no stranger  to tough Fights just continued stay poised and eventually knocked Delumeau out with just 10 seconds left in the fight. Kimura now improves his um-blemished record to 9-0. The last Hawaii fighter to step into the cage was 808 Top Team’s Harris Sarmiento in the nights co-Main event. Sarmiento took on Mark Striegl of the Philippines. Unfortunately for Sarmiento it was not his night losing by First round Submisiion(Scarf Hold Armlock), but if there is one thing we all know about the Hitman is he will be back and with a vengeance. All in all our Hawaii boys looked good, win or lose. They all showed respect and the aloha spirt in last nights fights and I for one can’t wait to see all of them back in action. MMAAbsolute.com would like to take this time to say congratulations to all of the Hawaii Fighter that competed lasnight and wish them a safe trip home.
